Sergey Radchenko is Wilson E. Schmidt Distinguished Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He has written extensively on the Cold War, nuclear history, and the foreign and security policies of Russia and China.

In his new volume, *What Would It Feel Like to Run the World?*, Radchenko offers a psychological overview of Soviet leadership during the Cold War, revealing how the Soviet Union's unrealisable ambitions as a superpower influenced its policies from Stalin to Gorbachev.
